About the Faculty
The Pediatrics Faculty is governed by the Dean of the Faculty, whose work is based on a "Model Regulation No. 264 of the educational institution of higher professional education of the Russian Federation", approved by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Charter of 05.04.2001 DGMU.
The main specialty, 31.05.02 – Pediatrics, was approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation by a draft order on 17.01.2014 by the State Committee of the Russian Federation. Normative term of training is six years, full-time. Training of doctors-pediatricians is conducted in full compliance with the requirements of the educational standard of higher vocational education, approved by the Civil Code of the Russian Federation for Higher Education and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation of 09.03.2000. All workers program faculty departments are aligned with state educational standards.

Training Standards & Curriculum
The Qualification of the graduate is Doctor – a pediatrician general practitioner. In accordance with new educational standards approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (Order No. 847, registered on August 30, 2010 No. 18277), significant changes were introduced on 01.09.2011 — not only in the structure of disciplines, but also in the designation of qualification diplomas.
The term of study at the Faculty is 6 years with a total labour input of 360 units (as an Official). The plan focuses on increasing the load on medical and preventive disciplines, with the number of hours in epidemiology and hygiene disciplines increased by almost 1.5–2 times. New curriculum introductions include: clinical laboratory diagnostics, the legal bases of activity of expert framework for the protection of consumer rights, health economics, fundamentals of management.
